Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar was one of the American and British sitar artist. She is the youngest female and the first to be awarded an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career moving between London as well as New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. When she moved to Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned an honorary high school degree. Anouskha, who is only 17 years old, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She has been performing with her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998, she debuted her first self-titled album Anourag. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Stage performance is a important aspect of her life. She's played in many famous venues around the globe. Anoushka isn't just a performer. Bapi The love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Her career continues to grow and she is expected to do many great things in the near future. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of traveling between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to California to finish high school. She began learning music at age 9 and was a sitar player for the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi four years later. Accompanying her father as they toured around the globe, Anoushka racked up a wealth of experience performing on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also performing with George Harrison. The youngest female to win the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musicianship in performing in the Asian Arts.
